Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant

by Tom Pike last modified 2006-08-18 00:51

Overview

Rating: 3 1/2 Chopsticks
Location: Main Street Cowra
Visiting Time: Dinner

This was the first restaurant on our reviewing crusade so it will always be special.  The big backlit picture of Hong Kong is a good addition to any room.

Food

Overall not bad.  It is always interesting to peer into the kitchen to see if there is an Asian hand in the cooking.  It appeared that at least one of the cooks was Asian, which makes the fact that the spring rolls were cooked with beef mince a little perplexing.

Service

No complaints, neither hot nor cold.

Atmosphere

A dominant backlit picture of Hong Kong from the 1980's almost brought tears to our eyes.  They even got the right city!

What are Tom, Christy & Peter Doing?

Site of the Month

It has been more than a month since site of the month was updated, but this month we bring you Cake Wrecks. As Christy is quite the baker we've enjoyed seeing how cakes can, and do, go horribly, horribly wrong.
